Global IT Network Engineer

The Global IT Network Engineer will report to the Manager Global IT Foundation. This position will support the IT department by maintaining the functions of the following:

• Develop and Engineer new solutions in the networking area based on business needs.
• Lead and manage complex technical projects in the network area (from design/engineering, to rollout, and manage)
• Engineering and Operation of global LAN Infrastructure (Core network, Access, Wi-Fi Layer)
• Engineering and Operation of global WAN Infrastructure including WAN Compression/Acceleration
• Engineering and Operation of global WAN security (Firewalls, VPN, cVPN, IDS/IPS)
• Engineering and Operation of the datacenter in the headquarter (cooling, UPS, power, connections)
• Co-Operation in Operation of the OT-Network (Operations-Technology Network)
• Engineering and Operation on Microsoft Azure network and connectivity
• Support the subsidiaries in the networking area and develop local solutions
• Global ISP management and optimization
• Networks/Provider management
• B2B Communication management (IP Telephony)
• Deep error troubleshooting in complex worldwide networking systems
• Monitoring and maintain the whole global network infrastructure area
• Manage and solve 2nd level Incidents in network infrastructure area
• Release Updates/Installations on the networking systems (outside of business hour)
• Understand business requirements and execute with change request in our ticketing tool
• Realization of project according to the design and architecture
• Tasks may be changed/updated according to technical development/needs.

 

Education / Experience

• Bachelor/master's in information technology, University degree or adequate certification level
• Deep technical knowledge in IP networking
• At least 10 years' experience with LAN management and networking (Engineer level)
• At least 10 years experience with WAN management in international environment
• At least 10 years of experience in IT communication area
• Knowledge in communication security
• Certifications in networking area
• Experience in a multinational group (European headquarters)
• Excellent technical skills in the networking sector, willing to learn and personal availability.
