Our geotechnical group has an immediate need for an experienced, energetic Senior Geotechnical Engineer to take on a leadership role in our geotechnical engineering practice. You will have the opportunity to direct and manage projects for a variety of facilities and coordinate with a broad range of other disciplines within AECOM.
Our group provides geotechnical services in a variety of sectors, primarily being dams and levees; however, we work side-by-side other disciplines within AECOM, which may involve working in other sectors, including civil works, transportation, mining, and energy. You will have opportunities to work on local, national, and international projects, engaging in project life cycles from planning and site investigation through detailed design and construction.
You should have experience in supervising and training staff in geotechnical engineering tasks, including investigations, analyses, reporting, and construction. You will serve as a technical advisor for our team, analyzing complex problems and guiding solutions to challenging geotechnical issues. You will take on project leadership roles in our geotechnical engineering practice, working closely with our junior and entry-level staff to complete project work, lead proposal efforts, and manage scope, schedule and budget. You will perform quality control, review of design calculations or drawings, interact with internal and external clients, and assist with hiring efforts from time to time. You will mentor younger engineers and connect staff with experts throughout AECOM.
You will be supported as you continue to develop your career as a geotechnical engineer. You will engage in developing technical expertise, managing projects, leading teams, supporting active project pursuits, and contributing to business development. You should also anticipate training and development as a project manager and immediately lead geotechnical projects or geotechnical components of large projects—in charge of scope, schedule and budget.
