Position Summary

Performs customer service and food service operations in support of East Wing Eatery. Must be committed to serving a diverse college community. Actively participates in and contributes to continuous quality improvement.

This is a Temporary Part-Time position working no more than 20 hours per week.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Open and close the store in accordance with set procedures.

• Sell merchandise; advises customers on merchandise price, features, and/or services; performs cashiering duties.

• Input orders on Point-of-Sale system and helping execute orders

• Execute several specialty espresso drinks using coffee/espresso machines

• Prepare and finish several products for sale items.

• Assign and reconciling cash drawers, change orders and small change.

• Receive and checks in deliveries.

• Maintain sanitation & safety standards within the establishment.

• Assist in and oversees food preparation, rotation, proper storage and labeling.

• Assist with oversight of café’s daily operations and staff.

• Assist students, faculty and staff with various needs;

• Answer telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance.

• Perform related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• ServSafe Certified (food handler) or able to obtain upon hire.

Preferred Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.

• Experience in Customer Service or Food Service

Contingency of Employment

• Satisfactory Completion of a Background Check

• Maintain ServSafe Certificate

Physical Demands:

• Lift up to 50 lbs.

• Climbing (including ladders)

• Standing on feet for duration of shift
