The opportunity

This is a remote position and the person hired can sit anywhere in the United States.

Reporting to the US Medical Director, Movement Disorders, the incumbent will be responsible for developing and executing medical plans and providing a rigorous scientific and medical foundation for acceptance and usage of Teva TA-specific products as well as maintaining key strategic relationships with influential external experts nationwide. S/he supports the outlined integrated strategic planning for the assigned medicines within Medical Affairs and works for the plan’s implementation with strategic partners both externally and internally including Commercial, Health Economics & Outcomes Research, Scientific Communications, Clinical Medical Education, Field Medical, and Research departments. Critical to the success of this organization, the incumbent will need to create positive advocate relationships and partnerships with centers of academic and clinical excellence, national thought leaders, scientific experts and professional organizations in the TA communities.  

 

Key Responsibilities 

Medical Strategy/Projects

  • Per direction of the US Medical Director, contribute to the annual Medical Operating Planning process,  including production of the medical section of the brand plan, in collaboration with other cross-functional teams 
  • Participates in the clinical proposal decision processes, including review of proposals and protocols of studies, supporting R&D, operational, HEOR teams, and design of Collaborative Phase IV clinical studies 
  • Work with other Medical Team members to develop educational assets 
  • Serves as an internal medical/scientific expert supporting US Field Medical Affairs (MSL and VEO teams), Scientific Communications and Publication teams, HEOR, Regulatory Affairs, Business Development, Training, Project Teams, Clinical and Commercial functions 
  • Per direction of US Medical Director, oversees and manages projects with medical and scientific personnel and systems, provides organizationally aligned medical and scientific services, serves as a medical and scientific resource for all inquiries requesting a Medical Director opinion 
  • Contributes to strategically-aligned agenda and content development and co-leads Medical Advisory Boards for the respective product indications 

National Field Expert Liaison 

Per direction of the US Medical Director: 

  • Establish, maintain, and manage scientifically collaborative relationships with national and regional thought leaders and other HCPs in therapeutic areas of interest to Teva by proactively conducting scientific exchanges in a fair and balanced manner as a supplement to existing MSL interactions. Builds advocate relationships and partnerships with key opinion leaders, scientific experts and centers of academic excellence in the practitioner external expert community. 
  • Oversee data generation plans and projects, consulting with external experts and working closely with internal Teva departments as necessary 
  • Serve as the primary touchpoint for cross-functional conference/congress planning and coordination of medical booths and conference activities 
  • Serve as a local medical and scientific resource for the medical community and internal stakeholders in therapeutic areas of interest to Teva including responding to medical information requests, delivering medical education presentations, providing clinical trial support (corporate- and investigator-sponsored), attending congresses, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and internally-driven activities where scientific support is appropriate  

Your experience and qualifications

Minimum Qualifications  

  • MD, PhD, PharmD, or DO   
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development roles within Movement Disorders & Psychiatry 
  • Ability to travel up to 50% nationally 
  • Ability to interact with TEVA organizations in North America, Global functions, GM and Europe
