Job Summary: The Patient Care Tech I assists the nursing staff by performing assigned duties for patients and staff under the direct supervision of a registered nurse. The Patient Care Tech I duties include, but are not limited to, secretarial functions and NA I skills.

Minimum Requirements:
- High school graduate or equivalency; or completion of third year in the AA Early College Program of a community college and provide transcripts to HR.
- Nurses Aide I certificate listed with the North Carolina Department of Facilities Services.
- Some understanding of medical terminology.
- At least one year of experience in an acute care setting, either as a unit secretary or as a Nurse Aide I preferred.
- Able to organize confidential clerical responsibilities and patient care, maintaining workflow despite interruptions and changing priorities.
- Able to relate effectively to patients, their families, physicians, staff, and all others using proper channels of communication.
- Maintain current BLS certification.
- Deliver outstanding customer service that upholds CarolinaEast's Standards of Excellence.
