We are Looking for:


CLS Health is seeking a Medical Coder to join our growing Ophthalmology and Optometry practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical coding and billing processes, an eye for accuracy, and the ability to handle confidential patient information. This role is crucial for ensuring that medical claims are submitted accurately and promptly, and that CLS Health maintains compliance with healthcare regulations. 


 Responsibilities: 

  • Coding & Billing: Accurately code Ophthalmology and Optometry diagnoses and procedures using ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes. Submit claims to insurance providers and follow up on denials or rejections.
  • Claims Management: Investigate and resolve rejected or denied claims, correcting coding issues and submitting appeals as needed. Ensure timely reimbursement for services.
  • Compliance: Stay updated on Ophthalmology/Optometry-specific coding standards, payer policies, and insurance regulations. Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare laws.
  • eCW Practice Management: Utilize eCW Practice Management system for claim submission, tracking, and payment processing.
  • Collaboration: Communicate with physicians, staff, and patients to resolve billing discrepancies and answer inquiries.

Requirements

  • Certifications: Preferred coding certification from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) or willingness to obtain. Additional certifications such as AAPC are a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of direct experience in Ophthalmology and Optometry coding and billing, with a preference for 3 years of experience.
  • Billing Experience: Prior experience with physician claim billing processes is required.
  • Software Experience: Exposure to or experience with the eCW Practice Management billing platform is preferred.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
