Team 

The Platform team sits at the epicenter of Pave Engineering. As a member of the Developer Platform team, you will be tasked with designing and implementing scalable, secure cloud infrastructure and creating the development tooling and processes that enable Pave engineers to ship enterprise quality software with high velocity. You will play a technical leadership role by providing design and architectural guidance to product teams, establishing foundational technologies, patterns, and practices, and helping to shape Pave’s technical roadmap.

What you'll do:

• Architect, build, and manage enterprise-grade cloud infrastructure to support the security & compliance requirements of Pave’s largest, most sophisticated customers.
• Develop a best-in-class development experience, equipping engineers with the tooling that enables rapid, high-quality software development.
• Develop foundational components and patterns, with built-in security, observability, and performance, that allows product engineers to focus on driving customer value. 
• Define Engineering best practices and drive adoption across the organization.

What we're looking for:

• 5+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure. Proficiency in backend software development. 
• Experience using observability tooling to monitor, profile, and optimize web applications.
• Experience incorporating security best practices in large technical designs.
• High developer empathy. Passionate about improving the quality of life of fellow engineers.
• Experience leading large technical projects with high ambiguity and numerous stakeholders.
• Execution oriented. Eager to not only design technical solutions, but also dive into the technical weeds and drive implementation.

Compensation, It's What We Do.

This salary range may include multiple levels. Your level is based on our assessment of your interview performance and experience, which you can always ask the hiring manager about to understand in more detail. Salary is just one component of Pave's total compensation package for employees. Your total rewards package at Pave will include equity, top-notch medical, dental and vision coverage, commuter benefits, catered lunch, an unlimited PTO policy, and many other region-specific benefits.Pave's salary range for this position $195,500—$264,500 USD

Our Compensation Philosophy

Pave’s compensation philosophy is to target the 75th percentile of the market for both cash and equity at your job level.  This means that the “mid point” of every band at Pave is the 75th percentile of the broader market.

Pave also has a merit-based philosophy when it comes to compensation increases. We run a performance cycle twice per year to evaluate employees’ performance. Higher than average performance ratings result in compensation increases to the upper end of the individual’s compensation range for their role. The result is that high performers at Pave are paid above the 75th percentile of the market at large.
