System Architect Crop Care

The Crop Care System Architect is an integral part of the Product Team in the Agile Software Delivery Process for the Electronics Functional Group (EFG). EFG is a global electronics and firmware development team; responsible for electrical and firmware components for all AGCO machines. As part of the EFG, Crop Care specializes in equipment for cultivating and growing crops; specifically Tillage, Seeding and Applications equipment. These operations have evolved to include highly advanced sensors, ECU's, modules, operations and other digital farming solutions that leverage cutting edge technologies. 

 

The System Architect is respnsible for defining and communicating a shared functional and architectural vision for Crop Care products to help ensure the system under development is fit for its intended purpose and meets requirements of all products; current and future.

 

As our Crop Care machines move further into autonomy, connectivity, and smarter operations; our Architect will be key to brining in these technologies from adjacent teams to integrate and modify to fit Crop Care applications.

 

Your Impact

  • Work with stakeholders and cross-functional groups to concept and design high to low-level solutions across multiple platforms and teams
    • translate the proposed solution into an integrated system and provide in-depth functional insight
    • Work on API definition, integration mapping and documentation of implemented solution
    • Define best fitting functional solutions to business problems by leveraging out-of-the-box platform capabilities and exploration of solution alternatives
  • Breakdown Epics Capabilities, Features, Enablers and Tasks. Define Non-functional requirements (NFRs), provide oversight and foster Built-In Quality
    • Support requirements engineering and refinement process of agile teams
    • Support estimation efforts for new developments and improvements
  • Error analysis and support of the development team in troubleshooting
  • Lead creation, adoption and integration of technologies and processes to bring innovation, quality, efficiency, re-use and coherence amongst multiple teams
  • Less than 20% travel

Your Experience and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Engineering or equivalent education
  • 9 or more years’ experience in Embedded Software Engineering; primarily using C and C++, SCM tools (preferably GIT) and Agile methodologies (e.g. SAFe)
  • 4 or more years' experience asa Team, Project and/or Architact Lead
    • Systems knowledge; ability to carefully create functional/non-functional requirements and associated architecture diagrams, UMLs, etc.
    • Experience with defining and maintaining key software interfaces and APIs
  • Automotive, Agricultural or Construction experience and/or knowledge of Autostar, automomy, functional safety, J1939, ISO11783 and UDS
  • Experience in Model Based Design is an advantage
