The Marketing Communications Director, Thought Leadership and Research is
a seasoned expert in thought leadership and content creation to grow our business, generate press and write and distribute content to help people transform their financial lives.
The Director will write and produce thought leadership via research reports and articles to position. You'll share Empower's point of view on financial planning, investing, and advice.
What you will do:
- Create external/internal communications and PR campaigns that build our brand and drive leads
- Write compelling content, press releases, and thought leadership for our digital channels that elevate and differentiate our product and service offerings
- Lead outbound press pitching efforts and field in-bound media inquiries
- Serve as a primary contact for Empower business leaders, and agency relationships including PR and SEO partners to optimize content that matters to our audiences
- Develop key messaging and press briefings to support our spokespeople
- Build relationships with internal and external influencers, affiliate program leads, and press contacts
- Manage content pipeline: coordination with freelance writers, ensuring timely execution of content calendar
- Track and report on earned and organic growth that is attributed to content, press and social efforts
- Be savvy to “trendjacking” opportunities and monitor media trends and news
- Work with our HR team to build internal communications programs and support recruiting efforts
What you will bring:
- 10+ years of work experience, preferably in financial services, product management, marketing, or a media related field. Marketing experience in a corporate, sales and/or agency environment
- Expertise in the retirement services and workplace solutions industy required
- 5 or more years of experience driving and implementing promotion strategies and programs for large and complex organizations
- A big idea, creative thinker who is passionate about building brand.
- Proven project management and strategic planning skills
- Bachelor’s Degree required. MBA preferred
- FINRA fingerprinting required

Base Salary Range
$120,600.00 - $174,825.00The sala
