The Role at a Glance
We are excited to bring on an AVP of Premium & Billing and Member Support to join our Workplace Solutions Group Protection Operations Team in a remote environment.
Background Details
As an AVP of Premium & Billing and Member Support, you will provide strategic direction and leadership to the Premium & Billing and Member Support functions for the group and worksite insurance blocks. You will develop, direct and execute an integrated strategy for billing, posting and control functions as it relates to the block as well as the oversight of the auditing our self-administered clients. You will develop, direct, and execute a strategy as it relates to member support functions. In addition, you will oversee a team of 9 leaders & 155 individual contributors. What you'll be doing
- You will lead a dynamic team in an environment that is constantly changing. Provide training and development opportunities, including stretch assignments, for team members and give honest and open feedback to aid in the development of talent. You will direct and evaluate individual/team performance and takes appropriate action to meet and/or exceed performance standards for assigned areas of responsibility.
- You will collaborate with finance and internal audit to implement and manage appropriate required and necessary operational and financial risk controls. In addition, you will hold the team accountable to performing, documenting and reporting on controls.
- You will lead strategy, results, processes and procedures as well as direct the alignment and prioritization of premium and billing activities including billing, posting and reconciliation of premiums and fees associated with suppliers and Third Party Administrators. In addition, you will develop and direct core group and worksite billing and reconciliation strategy, results, processes and procedures at the block and case level. You will direct and oversee the development and execution of custom processes for specialized billing, premium and vendor payments.
- You will lead strategy, results, and processes and procedures for complex eligibility management customer data requests, enrollment activities and member updates in an accurate, timely and efficient manner. This includes ensuring that all service, quality, and production levels for assigned team(s) are successfully met.
- Partner and strategize with internal stakeholders to ensure accuracy of member data resulting in accurate premium collection and claims administration.
- You will work with Finance, Underwriting and Controls to communicate the performance of the billing function including self-administered auditing to provide transparency into the financial operations.
- You will collaborate with Finance, Underwriting, Treasury, Controls, Customer Delivery, Claim and Customer Experience leaders to develop and implement appropriate strategies to achieve objectives that provide a recommendable customer experience while protecting the company, shareholders and customers. In addition, you will partner with distribution on what we should write and how to manage cases with regards to billing, premium, and eligibility.
What we’re looking for
- 4 Year/Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)
- 10+ Years of service operations, business operations and/or financial operations experience in Group Protection insurance industry that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this position, including 3+ or managerial, supervisory, and/or demonstrated leadership experience including influencing senior management/critical stakeholders experience
- Premium & Billing experience
- Experience managing people leaders
- Strategic Planning/Execution
- Operational Leadership Experience - setting Key Performance Indicators, managing workload/staffing models, managing departmental performance
- Process re-engineering experience
