To be considered for this role, candidates must live within a reasonable daily commuting distance of Chicago, Illinois, New York City, New York, or Los Angeles, California.

Responsibilities:

• Identify and prioritize high-potential target clients for Yahoo Sports’ premium advertising solutions

• Develop and execute a sales strategy to meet or exceed revenue targets through the sale of Web and mobile, Video and audio, sponsorships, editorial integrations, and custom programming development; events and other yet-to-be-imagined ideas

• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, from prospecting to contract execution and beyond

• Stay abreast of key industry trends and competitive offerings to inform editorial and product 

• Create and present proposals that address the client’s specific business objectives and marketing challenges

• Collaborate closely with internal teams to ensure that bespoke ad deals are tailored to meet the client’s needs

Qualifications:

• 5 - 7+ years of relevant experience, with a focus on direct sales for a Sports brand

• Deep understanding of the Sports media environment, including the ability to speak knowledgeably about industry trends and client challenges

• Strong track record of success in meeting or exceeding sales targets

• Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and develop compelling proposals

• Experience presenting to existing and prospective clients

• Ability to understand and leverage data and insights

• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple client relationships and opportunities

The compensation for this position ranges from $151,125.00 - $315,000.00/yr and will vary depending on factors such as your location, skills and experience. The compensation package may also include incentive compensation opportunities in the form of discretionary annual bonus or commissions, in addition to equity incentives.
