Job Description
The Regional Manager, Strategic Sourcing is responsible for conducting contracting activities, supplier/supply chain management and supporting our customer and sales team across the region. The Manager is responsible for increasing customer satisfaction, growing program participation and strategically developing new programs by conducting local Hawaii sourcing initiatives based on client adhoc requests. This role requires the Regional Sourcing Manager to take a strategic approach to conducting sourcing initiatives, effectively manage suppliers, coordinating savings analysis for individual and customer units and clients, articulate Avendra’s value proposition and approach to current and potential customers, and prioritize many simultaneous demands while working independently in a field environment.

Job Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities
• Regional contracting and local supplier management
o Be a steward of Avendra’s principles and value proposition.
o Identify new opportunities or categories in which Avendra can create value for our clients and/or our suppliers.
o Apply best practices for Hawaii regional initiatives –
o Lead Business Ownership activity for his/her portfolio of contracts.
o Advise on local purchasing practices and advocate to integrate them into Avendra’s approach.
o Responsible for assigned master food distribution Avendra program compliance.
• Planning and completion of contract plan
o With Sr. Director Strategic Sourcing oversight, draft and gain approval for all Initiative Strategy Worksheets (ISW) within his/her portfolio to ensure high quality initiative approach and that Regional Manager has autonomy to independently drive the initiative.
o Utilize a deep understanding of relevant supply markets including distribution channels, cost structures, economics, trends, etc.
o sues within region as appropriate, e.g., address competitive issues within categories, pricing strategies, allowances, supplier performance, innovation, etc.
Customer Oriented Responsibilities:
• Collaborate with the Hawaii Field Support & Customer Relations Manager to maintain strong relationships with customers, e.g., hotels, golf clubs, restaurants, in a specified geographic area (territory)
o Ensure execution of Avendra’s strategic value proposition for the Client (headquarter) at the customer level (end-user) as per the Client Plan
o Encourage changes of customer’s behavior; present value of Avendra supply chain resources in a consultative fashion; work with customer on converting from existing suppliers to Avendra Contracted Suppliers
• Analyze customer activity, satisfaction and utilization of programs; identify non-participation and potential causes. Maximize participation with approved Avendra suppliers.
• Collaborate with F & B and service category suppliers to identify sales leads.
• Coordinate CAP X projects with individual customer units to ensure Avendra supplier partners are included in bid proposals.
• Provide analytical reports and sales support for business ownership growth.
• Coordinate with target service suppliers to coordinate customer sales meetings, track meeting results, and to grow individual contract spend.
• Collaborate with internal departments (Business Ownership, Account Management, Sales, etc) as needed, while keeping the focus on completing initiatives and managing suppliers
• Establish a collaborative culture with team members; ensure team interacts constructively with internal and external stakeholders.
• Manage the process along with the Avendra HQ Implementation team and Hawaii Field Support Manager for new Customer roll-out meetings, including customer/supplier conference calls, kick-off meetings and follow-up processes.
Qualifications
Strong technical sourcing knowledge; excellent negotiation skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written/verbal communication and presentation skills.
• Strong project management capabilities
• Strong analytical thinking that leads to objective, fact-based decision making
• Ability to develop contracts that meet clients’ business needs.
• Ability to build strong relationships with all levels within Avendra, Clients and with Suppliers
Overnight Travel Requirements. Type: All modes of transportation , percentage 25-50% , length: 1-2 nights
Years of Relevant Experience. 5-8+ years of experience
Education Requirements. BS/BA in relevant field or equivalent years' experience.
