Job Overview
We have an opportunity for a Full Time Certified Prosthetist Orthotist to join our team. The department posted hours are 8AM-430PM.
Responsibilities
The Prosthetist/Orthotist is responsible for:
- The assessment, measurement, casting, modification, fabrication and fitting of prosthetic and orthotic devices under appropriate prescription criteria.
- Evaluates Orthotic and Prosthetic prescription for appropriateness and need for specific design criteria.
- Knowledge of CAD O&P Design.
- Development of patient treatment plans including the design of the appropriate device and component selection in accordance to the physician prescription.
- Teaches patient, families and staff appropriate care and wear of Orthosis/Prosthesis, maintenance and use.
- Appropriate, timely and compliant patient documentation utilizing EMR system; and the establishment of short and long term patient goals for documented outcomes.
- Direct the technical staff in fabrication of specific orthotic and prosthetic devices following an organized and orderly work flow with reasonable delivery dates of the orthosis/prosthesis to patients.
- Assesses quality of finished devices when fitted to patients.
- Assists technicians in maintaining machines and equipment.
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the department head.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelors Degree
- American Board of Certification in Orthotics (ABC)
Preferred
- Masters of Science in Prosthetics & Orthotics
- 2 years clinical and technical O and P experience
- 1 year Pediatric experience
- BLS
