Part-Time Temporary Research Assistant (approximately 20 hours/Week)
This is a temporary Research Assistant for a position for a study focusing on HIV vulnerability and HIV testing for African American young adults in Louisville, Kentucky. The employee will work in the lab of Dr. Jelani Kerr in the Health Promotion and Behavioral Sciences Department at the University of Louisville.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Initiate, coordinate, and participate in community outreach events for study.
Assist in management and cleaning of survey database.
Establish and maintain relationships with community partners.
Conduct multivariable data analysis using inferential techniques such as linear and logistic regression.
Lead development and writing of manuscripts for peer-reviewed publication.
Present study findings in public venues.
Monitor and help manage email and social media for project communications.
Screen potential participants, obtain consent, and administer surveys.
Track and retain research participants.
Work collaboratively with principal investigator and other staff / students to achieve study aims and goals.
Adhere to study protocols.
Assist in maintenance of databases for survey completion, retention, and analysis.
Provide health education services to community partners.
Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications:
Training and experience conducting community-engaged research.
Previous research experience with individuals from socially marginalized backgrounds.
Experience and success publishing peer-reviewed manuscripts.
Experience with survey research processes.
Training and experience in management and analysis of quantitative data.
Experience tracking and retaining participants for survey data collection.
Training and experience with delivery of health promotion and education programming.
Knowledge and experience on translating research results to lay communities.
Training in ethical conduct of research.
Compensation will be commensurate to candidate experience.
