About the Role  

The Project Engineer – Sustainability plays a key role in identifying and executing projects that reduce resource consumption, improve operational efficiency, and deliver measurable cost and energy savings across our facilities.

Projects may include renewable energy installations (such as solar), water conservation and reuse systems, waste stream reduction initiatives, and energy efficiency improvements. The ideal candidate is technically strong, hands-on, data-driven, and motivated by turning sustainability goals into practical, operational results.

 

What You’ll Do 

  • Lead sustainability-related capital and improvement projects from concept through commissioning, including scope definition, cost estimates, schedules, and ROI analysis.
  • Evaluate and implement renewable energy solutions, such as solar panel installations and energy storage systems.
  • Develop and execute water conservation initiatives, including rainwater harvesting, reuse systems, and process water optimization.
  • Identify, analyze, and reduce waste streams (solid, liquid, and energy) through process improvements, equipment upgrades, and supplier collaboration.
  • Analyze facility and process energy consumption, identify inefficiencies, and implement energy reduction projects.
  • Partner with operations, maintenance, EHS, and finance teams to ensure projects are safe, compliant, cost-effective, and operationally sustainable.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, utilities, contractors, and regulatory agencies as required.
  • Track project performance using KPIs, such as energy reduction, water savings, waste diversion, emissions reduction, and financial return.
  • Support sustainability reporting, audits, and data collection efforts as needed.
  • Ensure all projects comply with applicable codes, standards, and safety requirements.
  • Lead and support sustainability and energy-efficiency certification efforts (e.g., ISO 14001, ISO 50001), including documentation, internal/external audits, and ongoing compliance activities.

Additional Expectations

  • Remain compliant with the Code of Conduct and company policies, including the Kingspan Group Compliance Policy.
  • Ensure all duties related to product compliance are adhered to in accordance with the Product Compliance Policy, applicable laws, regulations, and market requirements.
  • Be responsible for tasks that achieve compliance goals and meet the demands of the Compliance Management System.
  • Raise concerns related to the Compliance Management System to your supervisor, manager, any member of the Leadership Team, or through the confidential whistleblower service.

Work Environment: This is a full-time position with a combination of office work and frequent interaction with manufacturing operations. Travel (50%–60%) will be required to various divisional sites, supplier locations, or customer facilities.
