Purpose

To provide professional direct resident nursing care and, in conjunction with the charge nurse, to supervise daily nursing activities performed by Licensed Practical Nurses and Nursing Assistants. To promote and maintain a positive physical, social, and psychological environment for residents in the Skilled Nursing Facility. To perform these duties in accordance with applicable current federal, state, and local regulations and standards, and as may be directed by the Charge Nurse; and to perform these duties in accordance with the mission of Elm Terrace Gardens to promote the health and well-being of individual residents based on their functional abilities and potential.

Positions available are:  Part-time Every other weekend Supervisor, 7a-7p or 7p-7a

                                              Full-time:  7p-7a  Wed, Thurs, Fri, Mon, Tues, Wed- no weekends

About the RN (Registered Nurse) Supervisor Position :

• RN supervisor is responsible to supervise nurses and aides for Long Term Care facility
• Required experience for RN Supervisor / Registered Nurse Supervisor :  2 years supervisory experience preferred
• Long term care experience preferred: 1 year
• Required license or certification for RN Supervisor / Registered Nurse Supervisor : Pennsylvania ( PA ) Registered Nurse ( RN ) License

Qualifications1 Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing and be currently licensed by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs, Department of State; or2 Must be a Registered Nurse in good standing currently licensed to practice in another state with a temporary permit to practice in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, and must obtain Commonwealth registration within twelve (12) months of employment; or3 Must be a graduate in good standing of a Commonwealth-approved school of nursing with a temporary permit to practice nursing in the Commonwealth after passing the state board examination; and4 Must be knowledgeable of nursing and medical practices and procedures, and laws, regulations, and guidelines governing skilled nursing facilities; and5 Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age and completed high school or obtained the equivalent of a high school education; and6 Must possess the ability to speak to and be understood by residents and staff, and demonstrate the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions; and7 Must possess an agreeable and helpful attitude toward senior adults.
