Job Summary
The Team Trainer will execute training programs for front-line retail management, sales, and deli associates. The primary focus of this role involves training and instructing new and existing hires on customer service, food safety, and all other convenience store operations. Additionally, the trainer will be responsible for primary leadership for the front end and operational cash handling practices, ordering, team development, and ensuring adherence to FriendShip Stores merchandising standards and compliance.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Maintains a consisting training program
· Maintains job aids for training purposes
· Provides coaching and guidance to newly hired associates and Team Trainers
· Ensures new and ongoing store and team training programs are successfully delivered, completed, and tracked Including onboarding, interviewing, instant/online/itvm lottery, vendor check-in.
· Effectively communicates and educates new staff on company policy, expectations, and procedures.
· Contribute to various projects and initiatives as needed, “Train-the-trainer”,
· Define and implement process improvements, tools, and technology to enhance processes for learning execution.
· Attend Team Trainer meetings as scheduled.
· Acts as a role model for constant food safety, sanitation procedures, and occupational safety.
· Trains all Team Members on new products, sales tactics, and item placement per store planograms.
· Familiarizes themselves with the Store Training Roles Handbook and maintains engagement with all communication platforms.
· Organizes, tracks, reports, and maintains accurate training records of store associates.
· Effectively communicate the company’s goals, culture, and values.
· Observe and assess the performance of employees during training sessions. Provide constructive feedback and support to reinforce training goals and encourage continuous improvement.
· Possess comprehensive knowledge of health codes as well as tobacco and alcohol regulations at the city, state, and county levels. Capable of educating employees on these matters.
· Promptly address questions, concerns, and challenges related to store operations. Be a subject matter expert on POS systems and PDI store paperwork.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Must be able to travel extensively between company locations as needed, at different times of days/nights and days of week.
- Previous experience in convenince store operations
- Current valid drivers license
- Must be family with computer and back-office systems
- Ability to work varying shifts/days of week to accomplish training goals.
Physical Demands and Environmental Condition Requirements
Occasional: Walking, driving, lifting, and carrying up to 50 lbs., pushing and pulling, climbing, stooping, forward bending, squatting, reaching, use of hand and foot controls, exposure to hot and cold temperatures, weather, atmospheric conditions.
Frequent: Standing, sitting, use of hands, talking, hearing, seeing.
