Specializing in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology
Position Summary
Nemours Children’s is seeking up to two full-time Pediatric Psychologists with expertise in pediatric hematology and oncology. These positions are vital in supporting the Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, providing comprehensive psychological services to children and adolescents with blood disorders and cancer.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver outpatient psychological care to pediatric hematology/oncology patients and their families at Nemours Children’s Health in Jacksonville, FL.
Provide inpatient consultative psychological services at Wolfson Children’s Hospital, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
Conduct psychological assessments, develop treatment plans, and offer evidence-based interventions for children coping with chronic illness and emotional challenges related to their diagnosis.
Participate in multidisciplinary rounds, team meetings, and collaborative patient care planning.
Support family adjustment and provide psychoeducation to patients, families, and medical staff.
Engage in quality improvement initiatives and program development within the division.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical, Counseling, or School Psychology from an APA-accredited program.
Completion of an APA-accredited internship with specialized experience in pediatric psychology.
Postdoctoral fellowship or equivalent experience in pediatric hematology/oncology preferred.
Current or eligible for Florida licensure as a psychologist.
Demonstrated experience providing psychological services to children with chronic or life-threatening medical conditions.
Demonstrates strong abilities in assessment, intervention, consultation, and working collaboratively across disciplines. Opportunities for research are both available and encouraged, as is an interest in supervising pre-doctoral and post-doctoral students, fellows, and medical residents.
