About the role

JOB SUMMARY

Supports multiple, strategic, complex, cross-boundary projects, services and associated deliverables related to data analysis activities.  Acts as a senior internal consultant in the identification, implementation, and/or development of clinical, quality, and financial analytical models to demonstrate value and/or increase the value of services.  Functions as a strategic and tactical resource.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration or related field or being a Licensed RN required.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
  • Three years’ experience in data analysis or related area is required.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment with coursework or experience in statistics, business writing, financial analysis, planning, and marketing preferred
  • Black Belt (BB) certification preferred.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  1. Oversees data management activities for assigned projects. Serves as primary contact between clinical leadership and Performance Analytics department in data related issues.
  2. Leads assigned projects by applying project management skills, statistical and data management techniques to facilitate better decision making, improve business operations and discover, improve, develop new methods of data dissemination.
  3. Plans, develops and monitors timelines for statistical and data management activities for assigned projects.
  4. Determines data required for projects and identifies data to satisfy informational needs.
  5. Ensures appropriate data analysis is performed and validates the accuracy and integrity of the data output.  .
  6. Assists with development of and progress on implementation plans by providing support related to collection, organization, and monitoring of data and timelines. Coordinates monthly implementation status report for leadership.
  7. Prepares presentation materials that are concise, accurate, and clear to ensure clarity and appropriately respond to customer informational needs.
  8. Assists in the development and implementation of new statistical and data management methodologies to improve current/future decision making and medical center processes. 
  9. Serves as key resource and team member within the Department.  Ensures high quality service to customers by maintaining knowledge and skills for self-development.
  10. Adheres to the general hospital standards to promote a cooperative work environment by utilizing communication skills, interpersonal relationships and team building.
  11. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Strong computer application skills including word processing, spreadsheet, business graphics, database management and programming
  • Ability to handle a variety of projects and tasks simultaneously and balance competing deadlines
  • Knowledge of healthcare information systems, services, operations, and delivery systems

WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Clean, comfortable, office environment
  • Some travel required
  • Ability to work hours outside of normal Monday-Friday, 8-5 p.m. schedule as required
