Inventory Accountant I

Job purpose

 

This position demands a strong accounting professional that is accurate, inquisitive, detail-oriented, and a self-starter.  The Inventory Accountant II - Inventory Accounting team will be responsible for the day-to-day operations related to incentive activities that fall under the Inventory Accounting team.  This position will report to the Director of Inventory Accounting.

 

Duties and responsibilities

 

• Maintain vendor payment and support tracking system.
• Reconcile vendor support with internal accruals, research, and work with vendor or Supply Chain to correct accrual variances and payment discrepancies.
• Work with Accounts Payable and Receivable for vendor payment allocations to system generated accruals.
• Assist Director of Inventory Accounting with incentive month end close process.
• Prepare various weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports.
• Participate in special projects as requested and consistently improves the quality of deliverables.
• Provide ad-hoc support for field and department management.

 

Qualifications

 

• Bachelor of Science degree in business, finance, accounting, economics, or other related field.
• Proficient skill with Computer Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Professional written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated success working in a demanding, high-performance environment with a team-oriented culture.
• Ability to be analytical and problem solving without manager involvement.
• Comprehensive knowledge of business acumen, financial concepts, and procedures.

 

Working conditions

 

• Minimal travel requirements as needed for business purposes
• Work assignments may be completed remotely and/or available company offices/branches within respective markets

 

Physical requirements

 

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer and/or keyboard
• Heavy methods of verbal and auditory communication via phone, virtual calls, and/or email
