A Big Ass Fans Water Spider-Tug Driver/Material Handler is responsible for driving a stand-up forklift or tugger to move, load and unload material throughout the manufacturing facility. This vital role also keeps workstations fully stocked with materials and successfully controlling the continuous flow of productivity, assuring that the daily production and on-time delivery schedules are met.
Responsibilities
Ensures JIT is happening just the right amount of materials and supplies at the right time in the right place.Moves raw materials into the production areas to be staged into the work cells and within the factory.Assists in 5S, continuous improvement, and Lean activities proactively and as assigned.Keeps the flow in the factory clean and smooth by taking on the occasional tasks (tasks that do not happen every cycle, such as material replenishment or making shipping containers).Retrieves and organizes totes, pallets, carts, etc. as required.Verifies inventory computations by comparing them to physical counts of stock and investigates discrepancies or adjust errors.Determines proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.- Adhere to all ISO procedures and work instructions to ensure a high level of quality.
- Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in stockroom, supply rooms, or other areas.
Marks stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.Cleans and maintains supplies, tools, equipment, and storage areas to ensure compliance with safety regulations.Issues or distributes materials, products, parts, and supplies to appropriate departments or individuals, based on information from incoming requisitions.Moves material to and from Loading/unload designated stop and ensures materials are transported to correct locations.Ensures loads are always secure and safely operate tugger without causing damage to material.Keeps records on the use and/or damage of stock or stock handling equipment.Enters data for quantities of parts issued and transferred between locations, inventory and cycle count adjustments, into computer database.Examines and inspects stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.Maintains a safe, organized and efficient work area.Processes factory transfers within the warehouse and manufacturing areas.Executes assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.Completes pre-trip inspection on tugger.Processes factory transfer within the warehouse and manufacturing areas via tablet or computerExecutes assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.Executes pick up and bailing of cardboard/corrugation.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-3 years previous warehouse, shipping, receiving or order selecting experience
- Experience driving a stand-up forklift preferred with ability to obtain powered industrial forklift certification or produce proof of prior certification
- Knowledge of ISO standards, OSHA and DOT rules and regulations
