Job Description Summary

The primary function of this position is to courier laboratory specimens from the PADLS Poultry Field Office in Manheim, PA to the New Bolton Center campus in Kennett Square, PA for sorting and distribution. Responsibilities will include maintaining logs and forms, ordering and stocking supplies, and keeping the Field Office clean and organized. Other assigned duties will include basic quality assurance/quality control tasks such as temperature monitoring.

Good computer skills, dependability, and demonstrated responsibility are required. The employee must be self-motivated, capable of working independently without frequent, direct supervision, and able to follow verbal and written instructions. This person must be able to interact with customers and co-workers in a professional manner and regularly lift items weighing greater than 25 pounds. There is no public transportation to New Bolton Center or the Manheim Field Office. This position is contingent upon funding.

Qualifications

• High School Grad/GE Degree and 1 to 2 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
• Employee must possess a current driver’s license (e.g., class C Pennsylvania driver’s license).
