Description

Position Summary

The Director of Manufacturing role provides oversight for the day-to-day operations of the manufacturing department, including resource allocation and monitoring production processes to ensure efficiency, productivity, and profitability targets are consistently met or exceeded. This role reports to the COO.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Maintain the right people in the right seats within the department team to achieve ownership and accountability, providing day-to-day coaching and guidance to department team members to develop them to their fullest potential.
  • Build strong succession planning strategy to continue to build and grow talent within the plants.
  • Participate in formulating and developing long range goals and objectives regarding manufacturing processes to support Prinsco’s service standards, procedures & strategic directives.
  • Coordinate planning and scheduling with sales leadership to exceed customer expectations and meet customer demands
  • Lead continuous improvement at each location, including Safety, Quality, OEE and 5 S’s.
  • Ensure healthy and safe working environments, including compliance with federal and state regulations, through collaboration with location management and the EHS Manager.
  • Drive results at production facilities and yards to meet their annual objectives and cost targets, initiating improvements and changes as needed.
  • Partner with Engineering and Sales/Marketing to implement the production processes for new products.
  • Support process engineering efforts to ensure company facilities and equipment are adequately designed, built, and maintained.
  • Focus on cross-training, continuous learning and improvement.
  • Complete other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Education equivalent to a bachelor’s degree and a minimum of ten years of manufacturing leadership experience required.
  • In-depth knowledge of current manufacturing techniques such as lean, 5 S’s etc.
  • Strong influencing skills with the ability to communicate verbally and in writing with all levels of the organization.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented with the ability to analyze data/facts/drawings to support valid conclusions and to solve practical problems or deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, applying concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Proficient with MS Office products and ERP systems, preferably MS Dynamics 356.
  • Honest and fiscally responsible.
  • Flexible to travel up to 50% of the time.
