About the role

We are looking for a Senior Accounting Specialist to be an integral part of the next level of the company’s evolution journey. The Accounting Specialist will report to the Director of Accounting. Located in our Athens office, the role will also have close collaboration with our team located in Sweden. The ideal candidate, a true maverick, has a can-do/hands- on spirit, proven record in multinational company(ies) of being exposed in the overall spectrum of accounting and finance in various functions, has an eye for detail, ability to multitask and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities:

● Assistant can work closely in taking monthly analysis, different types of projects quality control, working close with team.

● Be the key person, from the beginning till the end, of accounting nature projects, that could involve compliance, improve efficiency, strengthen effectiveness and enhance communication.

● Provide additional support, guidance and oversight for specific accounting projects, while also utilizing company resources or introduce new software tools and methods.

● Propose potential changes in our procedures and ways to improve efficiency.

● Propose automations to strengthen and enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of current and future procedures.

● Implement new KPIs to track, monitor and evaluate day-to-day flow.

● Participate in the ongoing establishment of compliance, accounting policies and procedures.

Requirements

● Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance or relevant; Master’s degree is a strong asset.

● Relevant certification (e.g. CMA, ACCA) will be considered a plus.

● Proven experience 7-10 years in a multinational environment.

● Proven experience as finance related project leader/manager.

● Strong communication skills.

● Experience in fully automated processes.

● Analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of procedures end to end.

● Accuracy and attention to detail.

● Error solving abilities.

● Aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.

● Experience in handling vast amounts of data.

● Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and financial accounting statements.

● Advanced understanding of Accounting, in a multinational environment.

● Hands-on experience with accounting software packages, preferably Microsoft Dynamics.

● Proficient MS Excel skills including Xlookups, pivot tables, power queries and if functions.

● Python or VBA.

● Personal and professional integrity.

● Proficient in English (verbal and written).
