Role Overview

Nomura is seeking a hands-on Senior Developer in its Reference Data team to guide the development of its Client & Account/SSI On-boarding and related systems, including AI-powered automation solutions. The candidate should have 10+ years of strong development experience using multiple technologies and should have strong expertise in designing, developing, and rolling out new solutions or significantly enhancing existing solutions.

 

Skills and Key Requirements for the role

 

• Strong Core Java with hands-on knowledge and experience in multi-threaded programming and microservices
• Spring/ORM, JUnit
• Sybase (SQL/MSSQL)
• Maven, Jenkins
• Design paradigms like Microservices
• Messaging interfaces (e.g. JSON/XML/DTD/structure)
• Cloud CI/CD development
• Linux Container technologies (Docker and Kubernetes)
• Knowledge & practical usage of Design Patterns
• Proficiency in a Linux/Unix environment
• Experience with Large Language Models (LLMs) and their APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic, Hugging Face)
• Understanding of prompt engineering and LLM best practices
• Experience building AI agents and autonomous systems
• Knowledge of vector databases and embedding technologies
• Familiarity with AI orchestration frameworks
• Experience with RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation) implementations
• Understanding of AI/ML model deployment and monitoring
• Knowledge of AI safety and responsible AI development practices
• Rule engines e.g. DROOLS
