Construction Coordinator
Colorado Springs Utilities is hiring a Construction Coordinator to support the planning, scheduling, and coordinating of utility restoration projects. You will ensure these projects are properly supported through detailed planning and coordination of resources, including reviewing customer requests, renewing and closing permits, reviewing construction plans, scheduling utility locates and barricades, citing safety concerns, and facilitating coordination between crews, contractors, and additional stakeholders. The work that you do will ensure Colorado Springs Utilities' ability to continue to provide safe, reliable, and cost-effective delivery of services to our customers.
A day in the life of a Construction Coordinator may include:
- Requesting utility locates and permits based on engineering drawings, scoping inputs, and construction needs
- Conducting pre-construction inspections of job sites to evaluate readiness for utility construction and ensure compliance
- Supporting planner analysts and construction business partners in all coordinating activities
- Supporting the scheduling of daily work and guiding field crews
- Collaborating with support groups to design and draft site-specific traffic control plans
- Reviewing survey staking, curb, gutter, and street construction, residential and commercial construction conflicts, utility conflicts, and construction safety issues
- Communicating Colorado Springs Utilities' site preparation requirements to developers and other customers to ensure compliance
- Performing quality control inspections of contracted work while partnering with City and County representatives to ensure standards are met.
Who You Are:
- Experience performing work in a construction field, preferably in public and private rights of ways
- Experience in construction planning, project coordination, and inspections
- Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license is required
