About the role

The Team

Bruny Island Community Nursing provides comprehensive nursing care, assessment, referral, and clinical management to clients of all ages in their home. Community Nursing operates home visits and clinic appointments. All nursing staff work collaboratively across the Kingborough municipality and may on occasion provide clinical support to Huon and Kingborough Community Nursing Team. This provides exposure to a diverse range of presentations and high-level engagement with multidisciplinary healthcare teams.

Our team works closely together to deliver excellence in healthcare. We aim to achieve improved outcomes in partnership with our consumers, our workforce, and the Tasmanian community. Care and service delivery is provided with stunning backdrops, hills, pristine waterways, National Parks, World Heritage Area and D’Entrecasteaux Channel.

You will need 

  • Current knowledge of, and the ability to apply nursing principles, procedures, and practices in the delivery of patient/client care in a designated practice area and in line with legal requirements and the Australian Nursing and Midwifery Board (ANMB) National Competency Standards for the Registered Nurse.
  • Sound interpersonal and communication skills, including written skills and the ability to function effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Knowledge of continuous quality improvement (safety and quality) and the application of evidence-based practice in the practice setting.

Details of appointment

Permanent, part time, shift worker position (fully rotational), working up to 20 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible.

*notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.

Salary

$80,524 to $109,175 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.

Access to the Grade 4 salary range $102,439- $109,175 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4

In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available: 

  • Post Graduate Allowance of up to 10% based on qualification type 

Salary Packaging 

You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible. 

Regional Allowances

  • District Allowances of up to $4,618 per annum for a family (King Island, Flinders Island, Cape Barren Island, Maria Island and Bruny Island)
  • Rural Professional Development Allowance of an additional salary allowance of 4% (Beaconsfield, Bruny Island, Campbell Town, Deloraine, Esperance, George Town, Ouse, Scottsdale, Smithton, Southern Midlands, Swansea, St. Helens, St. Marys and Triabunna)
