This requisition is for an RTX intern returning for an internship in 2026.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Engineering student to join our Advanced Products Center (APC) Texas Materials and Process verification design team in McKinney, Texas. As an Engineering intern the responsibilities will include operations support in the form of machine programming for automated optical inspection equipment, and flying probe equipment, and custom robotic assembly and test cells. This may involve some simple programming skills, along with capturing the program and the objective evidence and releasing it in our configuration management for machine program inputs (CMMPI) system.  You will work closely with product engineers, quality engineers, test engineers, industrial engineers, and operations leaders in developing automated solutions that support our factories goals.

This position is an Onsite role, where you will be working primarily in McKinney, Texas during Summer 2026.

What You Will Do

• Learn Creo modeling and drawing creation.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production automation cells.
• Participate in multi-discipline team to design, procure and build custom automation that support assembly and test of Raytheon products.
• Engage with program engineers, Program Management, and operations leadership to define automation requirements.
• Communicate with Vendors to obtain quotes and have technical discussions for automation projects definition, fabrication and test.

Qualifications You Must Have

• Pursuing as Bachelors or Masters degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM).
• This position is for an intern who is enrolled in a Bachelor’s (or higher) degree program and will be at minimum, entering their Sophomore year by the start of Summer 2026
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling.

Qualifications We Prefer

• 3.0 cumulative GPA desired.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, including a basic knowledge, and understanding of GD&T.
• Computer proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Excel and Word.
• Experience utilizing CAD (Computer Aided Design) tools such as CREO.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
