Job Description:
Based in Madrid but with full international exposure, you will work in a highly dynamic, inspiring, and challenging environment and become an integral part of our Energy Transition Advisory business.
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team which is currently expanding led by the New Business CEO and work closely with Alantra’s top management, including the Executive Chairman & CEO.
Part of the decarbonization process and energy transition efforts rely on an adequate decarbonization of final energy consumers. This comprises mainly industrial companies who have significant dependency on electricity and natural gas and thus need to undertake a conversion process driven by sustainable goals and competitiveness. The candidate shall lead Alantra’s effort to provide bespoke advisory services to corporates enabling their decarbonization process and facilitating a thorough diagnosis of target clients.
The candidate shall take ownership of this business line, from origination to execution, including pitching phase to closing; this comprises:
- Lead projects/deal origination with the Energy Transition Vertical.
- Develop a comprehensive strategy towards tapping this market defining a roadmap to become a reference advisor in the space.
- Assess the industrial needs from the assessment of the clients’ situation to the execution of advisory project, and leading the team through the process.
- Monitor industry trends in order to provide frontline recommendations to strategic clients.
- Develop a road map for the low-carbon and climate-resilient development with respect to main sectors of interest.
- Identify opportunities framed within the circularity initiatives aimed at establishing business lined within companies from what as of today are considered by-products or residues.
- Establish partnerships with corporates to ensure ownership of the strategy.
- Identify tools and approaches to integrate decarbonization, climate change adaptation and mitigation measures in the planning and investment process, underpinned by institutional capacity development.
- High quality interaction with clients during information gathering, identifying and anticipating to clients’ needs.
- Support in origination to proactively generate new business opportunities and ideas.
Requirements:
- At least 12 years of industrial expertise, energy consulting or transaction services experience with strong focus on industry and circularity from tier 1 firms. The professional category will be determined based on candidates’ experience.
- Have a broad knowledge of the industrial sector, market dynamics, new technologies and investments in energy savings, decarbonization and circularity, is highly valued.
- Applicants must have strong interest in energy transition and industrial decarbonization.
- Leadership skills, proven contacts with industrial corporations engaged in decarbonization strategies and entrepreneurial motivation to launch this new segment.
- Fully fluent in English (both spoken and written)
- Creativity, keen curiosity and look for intellectual challenges.
- Data-handling skills – the role involves managing large volumes of data for analysis; strong Excel skills are desirable, experience in specialist tools appreciated (VBA, Access, Python, Power Bi, etc
