Senior Production Support Engineer
Overview
The Senior Production Support Engineer is responsible for ensuring the stability, reliability, and performance of our Enterprise Data Platform. This role provides hands-on production support across complex data systems and applications, including monitoring, triage, root-cause analysis, and resolution of production issues.
The Senior Production Support Engineer supports monitoring and production operations for the Enterprise Data Platform and participates in a 24x7 Level 2 on-call support rotation. This role is critical to maintaining platform reliability, ensuring timely issue resolution, and supporting ongoing operational excellence.
The ideal candidate will bring strong technical expertise across scripting, debugging, DevOps processes, and enterprise data environments, along with a solid understanding of software development best practices, including design specifications, coding standards, source control, testing, and operational readiness.
Education
Bachelor’s Degree (preferred)
5+ years of experience required with a degree
7+ years of relevant experience without a degree
Certification/Licensure
Possesses key certification(s) or credentials central to the systems or applications supported (preferred)
Experience
5+ years of relevant production support or software engineering experience with a degree; 7+ years without a degree
Experience supporting enterprise data platforms, applications, or complex software systems
Hands-on experience with scripting/programming languages (e.g., Python, Bash, SQL)
Experience supporting DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, deployments, and maintenance activities
Demonstrated knowledge of software development best practices, including source control, testing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
Experience providing Level 2 on-call support in a 24x7 environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to triage and resolve complex production issues
