Job Summary
Dominion Energy seeks an Electrical Engineering Technical Specialist II for an intermediate-level position at the location in Innsbrook, VA. This position will provide procurement engineering support of mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems that support nuclear power generation.
This role is responsible for verifying technical and quality requirements to support acceptance of materials and services that support nuclear plant operations. This is a diverse position that is intended to blend technical and data analytic skills, procurement strategies, quality assurance principles, quality inspection and surveillance.
The duties and responsibilities include:
- Perform general technical and quality assurance (QA) duties in support of nuclear procurements as defined in EPRI NP-6629 Guidelines for the Procurement and Receipt of Items for Nuclear Power Plants
- Perform inspections, testing, and documentation reviews including analysis of test results and operation of test equipment in support of item acceptance activities.
- Apply data analytics to performance and quality systems, including human performance, material quality and technical support of audits of vendor programs.
- Distinguished from the Technical Specialist I by the increased responsibility in the application of quality, technical or engineering skills and knowledge.
- Capable of completing routine assignments and tasks with limited supervision and direction
- Bring innovation to daily job performance, including analysis & evaluation of systems and equipment in use, resulting in process improvements, and programs for assurance that modification, operation, and maintenance is in accordance with Company policy, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
- Must be available to travel domestically within in the nuclear fleet should the need arise.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
2+ years related work experience (with Bachelor's), OR 4+ years (with Associate degree) OR 6+ years (with High School diploma) of related work experience.
(Note: A Master's degree will count as one year towards the experience requirement. A partial year of six months or more will be rounded up to one year of experience)
Specific knowledge, skills, abilities and experience include:
- Knowledge of industry codes and standards, government regulations and company policies and practices
- Applicant will be required to complete training program and obtain certification as a ASME NQA-1 Level II Quality Inspector
- Must be able to effectively manage time to allow for regular work items and emergent priorities.
- Ability to change direction in job scope to react to plant needs quickly.
- Working knowledge in the operation and application of personal computers and software programs
- Must have excellent technical writing skills.
- Ability to apply, with limited guidance, engineering theories and concepts to effectively address problems.
- Preferred to have an understanding of power plant systems and knowledge of the design and operation of moderate to complex systems and equipment.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Bachelor
Preferred Discipline(s): Engineering Technology, Physics, Math, Chemistry, Biology, Computer Engineering
