At GDIT a System Engineer Tier III Cyber provides operational leadership and oversight of transitioning solutions and changes to optimize service and implementing N&NC technical roadmap. The Information Technology (IT) Enterprise Services (NITES) program effort is in direct support of North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD)/United States Northern Command (USNORTHCOM).
NORAD is a United States and Canada bi-national organization charged with the missions of aerospace warning, aerospace control and maritime warning for North America. Aerospace warning includes the detection, validation, and warning of attack against North America whether by aircraft, missiles, or space vehicles, through mutual support arrangements with other commands. NITES provides a full spectrum of enterprise IT services and management. Services provided will implement, among other DoD initiatives, zero trust at every level.
HOW A SYSTEM ENGINEER TIER III CYBER WILL MAKE AN IMPACT
Performs systems engineering for enterprise cybersecurity solutions and assists in the selection, design, implementation, test, and operational monitoring of security controls across the enterprise network.
Works with the Enterprise Architect, service leads, engineers, developers, and stakeholders to maintain the highest level of security defense and readiness with minimized impact on mission performance.
Assists in examining the security architecture and vulnerabilities of systems in cooperation with system owners and administrators through security scans, examinations of system configurations, reviews of system design documentation, and interviews.
Uses available technology to generate maintenance tasks and underlying workflows that will underpin compliance requirements and associated documentation.
Documents and maintains security diagrams, plans, documentation, procedures, policies, logs, audits, audit trails, and reports.
Collaborates with N&NC in performance of audits, reviews, evaluations, tests, and assessments of contractor systems, processes, and facilities.
Performs IA and compliance support services to maintain production system security posture, which includes engineering, implementing, operating, and monitoring.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institute in an area applicable to this position.
Required Experience: 10+ years of related experience
Required Technical Skills and Certification:
Appropriately certified for their designated role in accordance with DoD 8140.01.
Possesses a DoD 8140.01 approved baseline certification or higher.
Shall obtain and maintain a Computing Environment (CE) certification for the tool or device that accounts for the preponderance of its time: CCNP, ArcSight
Security Clearance Level: DoD Top Secret SCI Clearance Required
