Warehouse Driver

Job Summary:

As part of our warehouse and delivery teams, you will use hand trucks and forklifts to load and unload delivery vehicles and drive vehicles to delivery locations.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities: 

·        None. 

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

·        Identifies and transports requested materials to and from various locations including machines, loading docks, railroad cars, trucks, and storage areas.

·        Plans and completes an efficient delivery and pick-up route for the day.

·        Loads delivery vehicle with parcels scheduled for delivery.

·        Maintains basic records of truck mileage and deliveries made.

·        Ensures that delivery vehicle receives basic service according to maintenance schedule; reports larger service needs and mechanical issues to supervisor.

·        Assists in general warehouse duties when the delivery route is completed.

·        Performs other related duties as assigned

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

·        Ability to handle equipment and vehicles safely and sensibly.

·        Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. 

·        Ability to drive safely.

·        Ability to use navigation tools such as onboard GPS, smartphone apps, and/or web-based or physical maps.

·        Ability to maintain basic logs and records.

·        Ability to carry out a series of instructions without constant supervision.

·        Always remain professional and courteous.

·        Forklift certification and/or experience

·        Must be able to load and unload packages with and without dollies in various types of weather.

 

Education and Experience:

·        Satisfactorily pass forklift driving training program or demonstrate safe handling of forklift in an on-site test.

·        Experience loading and unloading in a warehouse environment.

·        Forklift certification and/or experience.

·        Must have a Valid Driver’s License and clean MVR report .

·        Physical ability to lift and move heavy items throughout a normal shift.

 

Physical Requirements:

·        Ability to maintain single task focus and situational awareness.

·        Must be able to move and lift up to 40-pound wooden skid or pallet.
