About the role

Summary of Essential Functions

  • Review patient care gaps for preventative exams. Call patients to schedule preventative measures or update their medical record with new information
  • Provide quality reports to clinical staff
  • Assist with data entry for monthly quality reports, physician goals report and access dashboards.
  • Pre-visit planning for patients; telephone calls to patients, data entry to update medical record
  • Perform audits of clinic safety measures

Educational Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Accredited Medical Assistant Program graduate preferred.

 

Licenses and Certifications

  • Certification as Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or Medical Assistant (CMA) preferred

 

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to read, comprehend and apply governmental rules and regulations
  • Apply understandings to carry out written and oral instructions
  • Recognize problems and take reporting action based upon sound judgment.
  • Understand patient and physician dynamics and effectively communicate with both patients and physicians.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.

 

Physical Requirements

  • Full range of body motion including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination.
  • Standing, walking for extensive periods of time.
  • Lifting and carrying items weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Pushing and pulling of heavy objects.
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Working under stressful conditions and working irregular hours.
  • Some exposure to communicable disease or bodily fluids.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review quality reports on a regular basis
  • Provide feedback to clinical staff on their quality performance and compliance with quality measures
  • Audit patient charts to identify root cause of non-compliance
  • Distributes educational materials to clinical staff
  • Assures accurate abstraction of data from medical record review.
  • Maintains proficient attention to detail.
  • Assures completed documentation of process review and follow up in the medical record.
  • Works collaboratively with providers and other support departments to ensure timely resolution to any identified variances as a result of audits.
  • Performs all other tasks/responsibilities as necessary.
