JOB DESCRIPTION
Summary/Objective
As a Procurement Manager you will be responsible for locating and maintaining the best sources of supply for a variety of indirect equipment, goods and services needed by the company. This should be done in consideration of all aspects of relationships with suppliers, including quality, value, and the ability to respond quickly to changing business requirements. This position is also responsible for selecting suppliers and vendors that can act as long-term partners and help the company meet its growth objectives. The successful candidate will be able to perform strategic procurement activities across multiple non-inventory categories of spend while overseeing and mentoring a team thru demonstrated leadership.
Essential Functions
- Develop, lead and execute procurement strategies and policy
- Create, track and report KPIs to reduce expenses and improve effectiveness
- Oversee procurement processes and identify areas for improvement
- Manage and lead RFx processes in a variety of indirect spend categories
- Craft negotiation strategies with optimal terms, risk mitigation and understanding of total cost of ownership
- Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly understood and documented
- Effective communication with Legal on all aspects of contract review and negotiation
- Forecast price and market trends to identify changes of balance in buyer-supplier power as well as performing cost analysis and benchmarking
- Assess, manage and mitigate potential risks through strategic planning
- Build and develop relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers as well as internal stakeholders
- Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand while effectively managing logistics
- Provide training/guidance on purchase order and ticketing systems; review/approve POs in accordance with policy and negotiated terms and conditions
- Handle defective or unacceptable goods or services with users, vendors and others to determine cause of problem and take corrective and preventative actions
- Develop and lead procurement team members through all aspects of the Procurement process, demonstrating professionalism, leadership and mentoring

Must be able to perform repetitious hand/eye movement, sit for long periods of time and be able to drive.
This is largely a sedentary role; however, some filing is required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand on a stool as necessary.
