Job Description
The Sr. Manager, Global Early Career Talent Programs & Strategic Enablement will serve as part of the Early Career Talent (ECT) leadership team and partner with our executives, HR leadership team, and hiring leaders to develop, implement, and execute customized strategies to enable our global early career recruiting efforts to attract, and retain, best-in-class early career talent globally. They will lead four key pillars within our Early Career Enablement Team:
- Programs: Oversee a global team of program managers. Partnering with business stakeholders, develop, execute, maintain, and manage a cohesive program in a hybrid approach to support interns, new college graduates, rotational programs for early career professionals, apprenticeship, and other workforce of the future initiatives.
- Oversee program development as a recruitment tool through alternative channels (e.g. military, community colleges, bootcamps, etc)
- Partner, and support, research based programs including PhD programs.
- Partnerships: Own strategic planning as it relates to our external and internal partnerships globally. Ensure local resources, and the business, have the tools and training to execute partnership strategy in their respective regions.
- Universities: Establish and maintain a core university partnership model, ensuring strong employment brand and positioning Western Digital as employer of choice. Continuous evaluation of partnerships as necessary.
- R&D Partnerships: Partnering with our CTO Office for R&D, align strategic core partnerships with critical research partners externally as it relates to our talent pipeline needs.
- Alternative Channel Partnerships: Explore and position an alternative talent channel to ensure we explore options to support our Workforce of the Future initiatives and alternative methods of entry into early career roles.
- Internal Partnerships: Partner internally to provide training and resources for business to help support local execution of recruitment & retention/engagement related activities. Partnering with ERGs to support long-term retention efforts.
- Events: Evaluate and manage Event Relations specialists who handle recruitment event activities globally, ensuring proper resources, tools, collateral, and strategy is provided to ensure a seamless recruitment event that can pipeline talent to our recruiting delivery team. Partners closely with marketing, facilities, or external vendors to ensure Western Digital brand is appropriately being managed, and ensuring appropriate resources are representing Western Digital.
- Strategy, Solutions & Operations Enablement: Oversee our strategy, solutions & operations enablement team, focused on providing project management, workforce planning, process improvement, resource management, governance & compliance, and brand enablement related support to the ECT team.
Qualifications
- 8+ years experience within Early Career / Emerging Talent Recruiting, with extensive focus across both program management, event management, and recruiting delivery, and at least 5 years people leader experience with direct reports and global experience
- Global experience required within talent acquisition function
- This position may require travel up to 50% of the time, including extensive international travel.
