Job Description:
The Role
Do you want to be part of the RISC-V revolution? RISC-V and SiFive are redefining computing platforms for the 21st century. SiFive, the world RISC-V leader, is seeking an experienced confidential computing software architect. In this role, you’ll help plan and implement the software and firmware for confidential computing on RISC-V and SiFive platforms. You’ll work with CPU, SoC platform, security, and software architects and engineers to implement confidential computing and develop groundbreaking new security features. You’ll engage with customers and partners to help determine the future of platform security on RISC-V. And you’ll engage with the RISC-V International and RISE to help drive the state of the art of computer security.
What we need to see
Prior experience implementing system software for confidential compute workloads
Familiarity with existing confidential compute approaches on Intel, AMD, and ARM platforms
Familiarity with peripheral security and integrity standards, including PCI IDE and TDISP and DMTF SPDM
Familiarity with hypervisors and virtualization issues, particularly in Linux
Familiarity with trusted execution environments (TEEs)
A strong software engineering background, and be proficient in C
Experience writing and reviewing hardware and software specifications
Ways to stand out
Familiarity with the RISC-V architecture
Familiarity with language-based approaches and formal verification approaches to improving system security (e.g., Rust, Ada SPARK, Frama-C)
Familiarity with mobile device security considerations and solutions
Familiarity with common cryptographic algorithms and systems
Basic understanding of public key cryptography
Familiarity with lightweight userspace sandboxing ISA extensions
Familiarity with microarchitectural side-channel attacks and mitigations
Experience working with CPU and RTL engineers and architects
Experience working with standards groups

Please note that the base pay range is a guideline, and our compensation range reflects the cost of labor in the U.S. geographic market based on the location of the role. Pay within these ranges varies and depends on job-related knowledge, skills, and relevant work experience.
