As a Sourcing and Product Development Specialist, the primary objective of this role is to harness the abundant manufacturing capabilities and furniture factories in Poland. The company is strategically embarking on the creation of a new furniture brand. In addition to sourcing furniture for an existing brand, they are seeking an individual with expertise in furniture sourcing within Poland or Eastern Europe.

This multifaceted role encompasses not only sourcing and liaising with factories but also entails product testing and development in collaboration with Lucas and his team. The specialist will work towards product enhancement, gaining insights into the current market landscape, and identifying successful product strategies.

Key responsibilities include:

📦 Sourcing: Identifying and procuring furniture items from reliable sources in Poland and Eastern Europe.

📑 Factory Communication: Establishing and maintaining effective communication with furniture factories.

💼 Product Testing: Conducting rigorous product testing to ensure quality and functionality.

📊 Product Development: Collaborating with Lucas and the team to enhance and refine products.

🗓️ Market Analysis: Continuously monitoring the furniture market, identifying trends, and assessing market performance.

This is a full-time position, operating during regular Central European Time (CET) working hours. The role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the company's expansion into the furniture market. 🧾

Requirements

The role focuses on forging new leads and manufacturing partnerships in Poland and Eastern Europe, with particular attention to categories like furniture and garden items. Additionally, there may be exploration into other categories, such as paper products and toys, for the second brand. The Sourcing and Product Development Manager will assume critical responsibilities for the operational management of the existing team in China. This encompasses overseeing tasks related to reorders and identifying new sourcing opportunities within China. The role involves the entire sourcing process, commencing with product research and sampling, collaborating with management and factories to enhance product quality, and negotiating prices, lead times, and payment terms. The manager will also coordinate order placements in conjunction with the Supply Chain Manager and senior management. 🌐🏭🧾

To excel in this role, the ideal candidate should possess:

💼 3–5 years of experience, exhibiting a seasoned skill set, and a well-established network within the manufacturing industry.

🌍 Relevant experience and established contacts in Poland and/or Eastern Europe, especially in the furniture sourcing sector.

🗂️ Exceptional self-starting ability, with stellar organisational and communication skills. The candidate should be exceptionally organised, capable of thinking creatively, and willing to go the extra mile.
