What You’ll Do:
The New Trailer General Manager is responsible for managing all aspects of the Velocity Trailer Centers which include retail sales, administrative functions and staff, inventory control, and purchasing.
Job Duties:
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the New Trailer sales department including:
◦ Commercial trailer purchases
◦ Transportation
◦ Retail sales
◦ Inventory control
◦ Pricing
◦ Address after-sale issues
• Directly supervise New Trailer Salespeople including:
◦ Hiring
◦ Training
◦ Discipline
◦ Career progression
• Responsible for the financial results of the Velocity Trailer Centers including:
◦ Gross Profit per unit
◦ Monitor P&L
◦ Utilization
◦ Direct operating costs
◦ Net Profit
◦ Budgets
◦ Forecasting
• Stays closely aware of dealership needs and client experiences
• Identifies areas of improvement and recommends changes in policy or procedure when necessary to improve efficiency and profitability
• Request and review reports and other documents produced by staff members to ensure accuracy
• Strategizes, creates, and oversees implementation of short and long-term plans, projects and campaigns
• Establishes and communicates goals with salespeople that support the company’s overall initiatives
• Builds cohesive synergy between the sales and operations teams and provides an environment that enables performance
• Participates in strategic planning sessions with other management to identify goals and objectives for the organization
Required Skills and Qualifications:
• Minimum of 7+ years relevant work experience
• B.A. required, MBA or comparable executive experience desired
• Business management experience required
• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task and maintain a strong focus on quality, accuracy, and speed
• Ability to work in a high-volume environment
• Excellent business sensibility
• Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills
• Excellent presentation and communication skills
• Excellent negotiation skills
• Self-motivated
• Excellent time management skills
Compensation:
• $135,000-$150,000 depending on experience and skills
