Senior Frontend Engineer

Scalr is a SaaS product company that offers everything necessary to scale Terraform. We have a strong emphasis on Terraform, DevOps, GitOps, the “everything as code” philosophy, consistency, and simplicity. Scalr builds a management layer on top of Terraform, which helps DevOps scale to their entire organization. As an engineering organization, we follow a DevOps approach as well, researching cloud services, adopting best practices, and using Terraform throughout. This helps us better understand our customers' problems and use cases.

Position Overview

Required Skills and Qualifications

Must have:

🔹 5+ years of professional experience in building frontend applications with React
🔹 Experience in building applications from scratch, including architecture design, tool selection, and development environment setup
🔹 React expertise: in-depth knowledge of the React API, component lifecycle, principles, and best practices
🔹 Next.js (Pages Router): experience with SSG and CSR; experience with Vite would be a great plus
🔹 TypeScript: solid knowledge of Interfaces, Type Aliases, Generics, Enums
🔹 State Management: Advanced knowledge of Redux (redux-thunk, redux-toolkit), redux-saga would be a plus
🔹 Performance optimization: knowledge of code splitting, tree shaking, and performance metrics (LCP, FCP, CLS) with related tools
🔹 TanStack Query: deep knowledge in using TanStack query to work with queries, data management, and component state management in the application
🔹 Modern styling techniques: proficiency with CSS Flexbox, Grid, and custom properties (CSS variables) for scalable, responsive layouts
🔹 UI/UX Development: knowledge in creating user-friendly interfaces, considering the need for flexible and fast access to functionality with accompanying onboarding using auxiliary components and tools, collaborating with the design team.

Will be an advantage:

🔹 Infrastructure as Code (IaC) experience:
     - Basic hands-on experience with Terraform scripts
     - Understanding of IaC principles and their value in resource management

🔹 Datadog Integration: experience with error tracing, performance dashboards, and user analytics
🔹 Form Handling: expertise with React-Hook-Form and Formik.

Responsibilities:

🔹 Develop new features and support existing code
🔹 Debug and resolve technical issues
🔹 Recommend system solutions by comparing the pros and cons of custom development and open-source alternatives
🔹 Work closely with the product and design team members
🔹 Provide a positive, polite, and open-minded style of communication

** Actual frontend stack: React (v 18), Nextjs (CSR), Typescript, Redux, Tanstack Query, Ant Design
