P&G is seeking a PhD candidate with expertise in surfactant and colloid chemistry for a Ph.D. internship position. The intern will apply their technical mastery and experimental expertise in colloid, surfactant, and/or polymer chemistry to the development of new technologies and product offerings in formulated consumer products. We are looking for someone who has experience building mechanistic insights and structure-property-activity relationships for chemistries in sophisticated mixtures. The successful candidate will be an innovative, critical thinker who enjoys applied experimental work.

Job Qualifications
Required Education, Skills, and Experience for the Role:
- PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science & Engineering, or a related discipline
- Able to develop structure-property-activity relationships
- Is technically rigorous in their lab work and acts with a sense of urgency
- Is able to analyze sophisticated data using basic statistics to draw conclusions and influence technical recommendations
- Able to work independently, formulate hypotheses, develop test plans, problem tackle, and think critically about their data
- Has excellent written and oral communication skills, and documents work in electronic laboratory notebooks and written reports
- Has strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
Highly Desired Skills and Experiences for the Role:
- Expertise in interfacial and colloidal characterization techniques (i.e. surface tension, interfacial tension, light microscopy, particle sizing, zeta potential, rheology)
- Experience in studying adsorption on surfaces (i.e. ellipsometry, QCM-D, AFM)
- Understanding of fundamental driving forces in colloidal solutions
- Digitally savvy, and can apply digital tools to accelerate scientific research
