Pentair is currently seeking a Environmental Health & Safety Specialist at our Moorpark, CA facility to provide EHS service, advice, direction and leadership to achieve Pentair’s Zero Harm vision, being responsible for implementation and sustainment of Pentair’s EHS management system and requirements at a plant level with all department leaders. You will:

  • Develop, review, support and revise the EHS management system, including guidelines and procedures
  • Monitor and audit compliance to EHS management system requirements; recommend corrective action for instances of non-compliance, track effective closure of action items
  • Support investigations and corrective actions for all incidents and accidents on-site
  • Conduct hazard assessments and risk analysis and track effective closure of corrective actions
  • Manage and conduct, when required, EHS training including new hire orientation, on-going EHS training, specialized EHS training (i.e. forklift).
  • Facilitate development of a self-driven safety culture among employees
  • Prepare documentation for a variety of safety permits and prevention plans
  • Maintain records related to Federal EPA, CALEPA, and CALOSHA
  • Coordinate non-hazardous and hazardous waste disposal maintaining site Landfill free program

Key Qualifications:

  • Have earned a degree in EHS or similar field from a recognized institution and experience in project, construction and/or industrial EHS fields
  • 5+ years’ experience with increasing responsibilities in a manufacturing, building trades and/or construction work environment if candidate does not have an EHS diploma, certificate or degree
  • Experience conducting EHS auditing and hazard and risk management assessments
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with people at all levels within the organization
  • Working knowledge of EHS protocols, processes and management systems
  • Knowledge of corporate, federal and state EHS policies, rules and standards.
  • Must be proficient in all aspects of Microsoft office

Physical Demands:

This is a working manager position, therefore heavy lifting and manual labor is part of the job as well as administrative functions.

The anticipated annualized base pay range for this full-time position working at this location will be from $78,100 to 145,000. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be determined by considering demonstrable level of experience, skills, knowledge, performance and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs. Actual compensation may also be adjusted if the position is filled outside of the intended geographic location
