WHO WE ARE

ActBlue is a nonprofit organization dedicated to creating cutting-edge technology that fuels Democratic victories and enables progressive causes to thrive.

Our vision is simple: building change through the power of people. Since our founding, we’ve been building innovative solutions to revolutionize grassroots fundraising – if you’ve donated to a Democratic campaign or a progressive organization online, you’ve probably used our platform! We believe in putting power in the hands of small-dollar donors by helping thousands of groups — from local candidates to national movements — mobilize their communities and create a lasting impact. Every member of our team is deeply committed to advancing our shared mission and core values. Together, we are shaping the future of democracy.

THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Senior UX Designer you will ideate and execute on the end-to-end design of products and product features. You will work on projects with a high level of agency and in concert with our UX research, product management, engineering, and internal teams.

  • Deliver pixel-perfect user flows at various stages, including at the ideation and research phases, with limited guidance. Iterate quickly given new information like technical constraints, additional requirements or peer feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams through each stage of the design process to define timelines, trade-offs, constraints, etc.
  • Be a strategic partner with your partners in product management and engineering to influence the roadmap for a dedicated engineering team.
  • Utilize and contribute to our Design System through project work in exploring and delivering solutions for components and styles.
  • Follow our organizational design principles and industry best practices keeping the best interests of the user at the forefront.
  • Participate in UX team crits by presenting work for team feedback and providing constructive feedback to others.
  • May support supplementary projects as assigned, ensuring timely and efficient completion in line with organizational objectives and standards.

WHAT YOU BRING

  • 3-5+ years of experience leading end-to-end delivery of products, starting from ideation and discovery to pixel-perfect mocks.
  • Experience working with remote, geographically distributed, cross functional teams on complex product features.
  • Experience leading discovery, ideation and user research sessions and incorporating those findings into your design process to inform UX decisions.
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams on product ideas and pitches, including the iterative design and delivery of MVPs.
  • Experience building a 0-1 product
  • Experience building in a highly regulated or complex space
  • User-first approach to UX design, grounding decisions in research and data.
  • Experience working through ambiguity and gathering context in new environments to actively contribute.
  • Experience working in a culture of feedback and approach conflict with curiosity.
  • Dedication to fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment, and don’t just welcome, but center and amplify, backgrounds and points of view that differ from yours.
  • Passionate about progressive causes and politics and want to spend your time making a meaningful impact by doing what you do best.
  • Experience with our design and tech stacks and are not afraid to dive in with curiosity to areas beyond your comfort.
