Job Description
Industrial HVAC Technician – Fluor (Rand Whitney Containerboard Mill – Montville, CT)
Pay: $34–$40/hr (based on experience)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m.
Facility: Heavy industry, 24/7 operation
Fluor is looking for an experienced Industrial HVAC Technician to support operations at the Rand Whitney Containerboard paper mill in Montville, CT. This is a hands on role in a heavy industry environment where reliability, safety, and teamwork matter every day.

What You’ll Do
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on all HVAC systems throughout the mill
- Read and work from blueprints, P&IDs, ladder logic, wiring diagrams, and single line drawings
- Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems, glycol loops, air makeup units, and plant exhaust equipment
- Use diagnostic tools such as multimeters, amprobes, RTD/mA/T C calibrators, and laptops for system communication
- Work closely with E&I technicians when needed
- Follow step by step calibration and startup procedures
- Enter work orders, parts, and PM data into the CMMS (Maximo)
- Troubleshoot 480V 3 phase motor starter circuits and 120/24V control circuits
- Diagnose control issues using your understanding of PLC logic and operation
- Work with equipment such as:
- Rosemount temperature transmitters
- ASCO solenoids
- Pressure and flow limit switches

Job Requirements
What You Bring
- High school diploma or GED
- S 2 license preferred, or a 2 year HVAC certificate/trade school equivalent
- 4+ years of HVAC experience (industrial experience a plus)
- Strong troubleshooting skills with 24V and 120V control circuits
- Familiarity with PLCs (Allen Bradley, GE Fanuc)
- Ability to follow strict safety procedures, including Lock Tag Try and confined space protocols
- Detail oriented mindset and willingness to document work properly
