Job Description Summary

The Co-Responder Program Manager reports to the Director of Special Services and provides high level support to students, faculty, and staff who have experienced incidents of harm sensitive in nature, such as sexual assault, domestic/dating violence, and stalking and harassment or who have been impacted by a critical incident.

The Co-Responder Program Manager oversees and coordinates the newly created Co-Responder Program, a program pairing clinical social workers with Penn police to respond to mental health related matters and to provide on-scene clinical support for critical incidents. The Co-Responder Program Manager collaborates with relevant campus and area partners for coordination of the program and ongoing training and supervision of the Co-responders; with the University of Pennsylvania Police Department for shift scheduling and synchronous on scene support.

The Co-Responder Program Manager plays a key role in responding to individual crises and collaborates with other departments to support Penn affiliates in distress due to crime/incident of harm, or other critical incident. In this capacity, Co-Responder Program Manager provides individual support, advocacy, and referrals to resources.

Additionally, the Co-Responder Program Manager will, at times, represent Special Services in collaborative meetings with both University of Penn and regional support offices and play an active role in developing supportive short-term case management plans.

This position is categorized as essential personnel and serves on-call (24 hours/7 days) and will require some nights and weekends.

The hours for the position will be 10am-6pm with a flex night which will be 1pm-9pm depending on departmental needs.
