To be successful in this role you will:
- Engage with clients to understand their technical and business needs.
- Consistently provide a client perspective to multi-year model development projects.
- Work with key stakeholders to manage the goals, scope, and launch of the model.
- Coordinate the release and drive adoption of the model in market.
- Collaborate with large, cross-functional groups to continually gather feedback.
The successful candidate will have demonstrated experience in the insurance or risk management industry. Specifically, we are looking for a Product Manager with a strong weather, geoscience, or engineering background who can blend their technical expertise with an understanding of the insurance industry. About the Day to Day Responsibilities of the Role
- Perform market research on adoption and usage of existing model versions.
- Conduct thorough business analysis for proposed models and initiatives, including cost/benefit estimates, market trends, competitive analysis, risk analysis, industry best practices, and product development timelines.
- Develop a business case for new models and ensure the scope of updates aligns to the diverse needs of our existing and prospective clients.
- Contribute insight to the development of our model development roadmap and strategy to ensure it is current and relevant for the needs of the market.
- Collaborate with the research and model development teams to understand how the latest science can address market needs and translate the into specific model scope requirements.
- Foster close relationships with all key stakeholders.
- Work closely with other Verisk business units that have adjacent solutions that serve the same markets as our models and collaborate on go to market plans.
- Work with marketing to maintain close oversight of market analysis, competitive intelligence to develop and provide model positioning responses to customer needs and market opportunities.
- Drive the collection of feedback on released models and upcoming model updates.
- Collaborate with the Consulting, Client Services, and Regulatory teams to ensure collected feedback is leveraged to guide future updates and regulatory approvals of models.
- Participate in conferences, seminars, webinars and client meetings.
About You and How You Can Excel in This Role
- 3+ years of experience developing or working with catastrophe models
- Demonstrated track record of engaging in long-term, complex projects
- Comfortable collaborating on cross-functional teams
- Ability to balance participation in multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to articulate complex topics in a concise and easily understandable way
- Product Management experience is desired
- BS Degree in a STEM field (Master’s degree a plus)
