Job Overview

The Standardized Patient Educator is a role within the Integrated Learning Center (ILC) in the Office of Medical Education at Georgetown University School of Medicine. This position is responsible for the training and supervision of standardized patients participating in the education programs for medical students, ensuring case fidelity and supporting faculty with case development. This position will implement and teach simulation education sessions and follow up with an evaluation of curriculum created.  This person functions in the role of educator, facilitator, consultant, and researcher. S/he must be an excellent communicator with ample experience in Standardized Patient management, training and development. Additional duties include but are not limited to:

  • Standardized patient training related to all phases of medical education

  • Scheduling, coordination, and logistics for routine sessions and remediation

  • Support for event managers

Work Interactions

Standardized Patient/Simulation Educator (SP/SE) will partner with a team of educators to provide a high quality clinical educational experience for learners in the Integrated Learning Center (ILC) at Georgetown University School of Medicine.   S/he will perform a full range of professional duties assisting colleagues with designing and implementing simulation curriculum (courses, content, and materials).  

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Minimum academic level/program required to perform the work is College (BA)

  • One-year prior experience with simulation and the work of standardized patients

Pay Range:

The projected salary or hourly pay range for this position which represents the full range of anticipated compensation is:

$54,616.00 - $100,493.33

Compensation is determined by a number of factors including, but not limited to, the candidate’s individual qualifications, experience, education, skills, and certifications, as well as the University’s business needs and external factors.
