Summary

As a Sr. Software Engineer (Applications) one works with and is mentored by a talented group of engineers in a fast moving, collaborative Agile development environment. In this role, one plans, designs, develops and tests software systems or applications for software enhancements and new products including cloud-based or internet-related tools.

Position Responsibilities

• Build up embedded Linux applications to control complex networked environments.

  · Develop web-based UI to support soldier created networks on the battlefield.

  · Work with program and engineering leadership to help understand requirements and influence design, analysis, and testing to ensure robust application reliability.

  · Work with cross-IPT disciplines such as Systems, Electrical, Hardware, and Test Engineering to align hardware and software goals.

  · Operate in a continuous learning environment and provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills & Experience)

  · Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or any other relevant field is required.

  · Minimum 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in Windows and Linux software development.

  · Experience with Linux application development.

  · Expertise in the following: C++ and Python.

  · Strong experience with containerization technologies (e.g. Docker, Kubernetes).

  · Experience with developing web applications.

  · Understands lower level networking concepts, including the OSI model, socket programming, and network debugging.

Other Qualifications & Desired Competencies

  · Advanced degree in relevant field is preferred.

  · Understanding of DHCP, IPv4, IPv6, Linux bridges, network stack internals.

  · Experience with Python-based web frameworks like Flask and FastAPI.

  · Experience with communicating to and controlling UAS, drones, or robotics is preferred.

Physical Demands

• Ability to work in an office environment (Constant)
• Required to stand and sit for long periods; talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone keyboard (Frequent)

The salary range for this role is:

$124,370 - $176,400
