About the role

Description

Reporting to the Sports Information Director, this position will positively promote Albion College Athletics’ 26 varsity teams and engage its supporters, fans, and student-athletes. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the SID in maintaining the brand for Albion Athletics through the creation of creative graphics, social media posts, etc. Responsibilities may include, but not be limited to statistics entry, game recapping, news releases, social media, feature story writing, and management of website content. The candidate will assist in overseeing a staff of over 20 student-workers, being the primary contact in some game day atmospheres. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, and organize a diversified workload with sensitivity and confidentiality. Must exhibit an appreciation of, a sensitivity to, and respect for a diverse environment, inclusive of students, faculty and staff of many social, economic, cultural, ideological, racial and ethnic backgrounds.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • One year experience in print, broadcast, online journalism, public relations or sports information preferred.
