At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight!

This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

We are a team of collaborators, doers, and problem- solvers who are relentlessly committed to a culture of safety. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. Join us in lowering the cost of access to space and enabling Blue Origin’s vision of millions of people living and working in space to benefit Earth.

We are looking for someone to apply their technical expertise, leadership skills, and commitment to quality to positively impact safe human spaceflight. Passion for our mission and vision is required!

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Oversee the preparation, readiness, and execution of test activities supporting the components (e.g., valves, regulators, actuators) on New Glenn’s 9x4 variant from development through qualification phases.

  • Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, risk registers, and resource plans while proactively identifying and mitigating potential risks to scope, cost, and schedule.

  • Contribute to team process/tool development including creating, measuring, and maintaining Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), with an emphasis on but not limited to eliminating waste (time, resources, money), throughput, and quality. Create training material and conduct trainings on new tools/processes.

  • Identify cost savings opportunities across the team, develop and plan cost reduction initiatives, and lead implementation and tracking of solutions to ensure measurable financial impact.

  • Support procurement activities including consolidating team needs, drafting PRs, monitoring activities, and distributing goods to the team.

  • Utilize software tools to mine enterprise data pools for demand planning and work tracking data/trends.

  • Work with test engineering teams to track and support work execution, providing weekly status reports for major program milestones such as launches or vehicle builds.

  • Support occasional development of new facilities or facility upgrades: identify high level requirements, capture demand, work with subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop high level test facility architecture, create formal proposals, and drive implementation forward if/when approved.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Responsible Engineers (REs), Manufacturing Engineers (MEs), suppliers, test facility personnel, internal partners, and their respective leaders to support timely and successful completion of testing.

  • Communicate effectively with Directors and Senior Project Managers across the organization on technical and planning topics.

  • Maintain team Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), templates, and command media in Confluence, SharePoint, and Windchill.

  • Champion a safety-first mindset while promoting process improvements in quality, schedule adherence, and team performance.
